Turning new maritime regulation into a revenue-generating SaaS platform
Transforming FuelEU regulatory requirements into a compliance platform adopted by shipping operators.
The situation
New FuelEU regulation created a concrete compliance obligation for shipping operators: emissions have to be tracked, calculated and reported accurately. BetterSea saw the product opportunity in turning that regulatory complexity into usable software for fleet operators.
The delivery challenge
The regulation set the timeline, not the roadmap. The platform had to be built from scratch, encode regulatory logic correctly, handle fleet-level operational data, and be usable by commercial shipping operators — with no room for delivery slippage before the compliance deadline.

SH!FT contributed to building the SaaS platform, covering product delivery and software engineering for the compliance product itself.
